Eurobarometer report on Development – question on Fair Trade

The EC issued on Monday 12 January 2015 the results of a recent cross-European survey with European citizens (one general, one for young people age 15-24) on “International Development” issues.

The EC is now just at the Start of the European Year for Development (Jan-Dec 2015), which is a way to promote “the case for ODA” but also to give ideas on what citizens/consumers can do in practice to support development.

The aggregate results are slighty better than earlier Eurobarometer reports (same question). For example, the same question asked in 2011 resulted in 47% of Europeans saying they would be ready to pay a bit more. The complete 2011 Eurobarometer report can be found here.

The complete Euro-barometer report is available including country-per-country answers to this question, and the info is also available in the 28 EU official languages. It is published on the EC newsroom: http://europa.eu/newsroom/index_en.htm.
