Fairtrade Town

To become a Fairtrade Town, communities must meet five requirements created by the International Campaign Fairtrade Towns. They include promoting Fairtrade in the community, ensuring that public facilities use Fairtrade products and that a certain number of supermarkets are selling such products. Additionally, the local media needs to promote the Fairtrade Town concept with articles throughout the year.
There are currently over 1,000 Fairtrade Towns in more than 20 countries such as London, Bonn, Brussels, Rome, or Copenhagen.
