How to Become a Licensee

Licensees are companies that are selling finished product carrying the Fairtrade mark under the company’s brand. The products must meet the composition requirements, and design of the product that carries the Fairtrade Mark must be approved by the Fairtrade Organization.

  • Step 1: Apply for FLO-CERT ID
  • Step 2: After becoming a FLO-CERT registered company, apply for becoming a Licensee through Fairtrade Korea
  • Step 3: Submit artwork of final product that will carry the Fairtrade Mark

Small Licensees

FLO-CERT have developed simplified certification process for small companies, which involves lower fees and audit processes are carried out less frequently. To apply as a Small Licensee the company must meet all of the requirements listed below:

  1. The customer is a Fairtrade licensee; i.e. it holds a license contract with Fairtrade International or a National Fairtrade Organization.
  2. The customer manufactures or re-packages Fairtrade products.
  3. The customer does not categorize as a Fairtrade Minimum Price or Fairtrade Premium payer according to Annex 1 of the Fairtrade Trader Standard.
  4. The Customer’s Fairtrade business is limited to selling ready for consumer packaged products registered/validated by Fairtrade International or a National Fairtrade Organization.
  5. The customer’s annual global turnover (including non-Fairtrade activities) does not exceed two million Euros.
  6. The customer does not have more than two additional entities.
